Coburg Lions (Mustangs) went a long way to exorcising their demons from last years finals campaign with an emphatic 64 point victory over Mornington.
The Lions jumped Mornington with seven goals to two in the first quarter and never surrendered the lead right throughout the match.
With a good spread of goalkickers, a hardworking midfield and a miserly defence, the Lions controlled the game from the opening bounce.
Coach Gubby was pleased with the result, "The most impressive part of the result was that the instructions the team were given were adhered to strictly by the playing group", Gubby commented.
